Almond Oil, Sweet
Organic Sweet Almond Oil is a great carrier oil for body and hair.
It softens and conditions the skin and hair. It is used extensively in body care products. It stores well. Extreme heat will shorten the shelf life.
Almond oil contains all kinds of healthy ingredients like Omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, proteins, potassium zinc, Vitamin A & E and magnesium, which explains why it is so good for our heart, skin and hair. We absorb carrier oils with our skin as this is our largest organ: the Epidermis. Adding a favorite paring of Essential oils becomes a decadent experience for the skin, immune system and emotional stabilizing hormones. Using almond oil nourishes and strengthens hair and is optimal for treating hair loss and damaged hair. A few drops go a long way to add silkiness and shine & nourish the scalp.
Usage Tip by Somah:
HORMONE STABILITY~I loooooove to use an empty bottle of a skin safe, earthy oil and make a 'mini- blend':
5 mL of Almond oil (a tsp)
3-5 drop Clary Sage (ECOCERT) ~as it has a different scent than the Wildcrafted one
*this is very balancing and grounding. For a touch of uplifting add a SMEAR of Ylang Ylang: either will be perfect. It's a strong oil, so a little goes a long long way.
NOURISHING HAIR TONIC~ I keep a "Somah's hair blend" in my bathroom an use it regularly, just a touch, to smooth dry ends. Or give myself a deep scalp massage with damp hair; leaving oil thick on the ends. Let it stay as long as you can. 5 minutes to 24 hours. ADD SHAMPOO FIRST TO HAIR before water and massage in. Then wet hair and wash as you do.
1/2 oz bottle of Almond oil
3 drops Patchouli for nourishing and repairing dry scalp and hair
2 drops Rosemary, verbenone is best but cineol will do; as a scalp soother
1 drop Jasmine, for luster and yummy scent
